Vietnamese Made Peoples Self Defense Medal
The medal is in gilt, which was the first class version of the award, although the first class version was also to have a rosette on the ribbon, which is not present on this example. This decoration is from a large collection of the medals of the Republic of Vietnam that was assembled during the Vietnam War. This listing includes several photographs of the collection, in which the medals were pinned to a large fabric display. This medal has some fading to the front of the ribbon from light exposure. The original two prong suspension bar is missing.
