The M1 helmet shell is a rear seam, swivel bale example, with the interior front having a heat stamp of “M338 C”. The exterior of the helmet shell exhibits much of the textured olive drab paint, showing scuffs and abrasions from wear in the field. The web chin strap with anchor closure fixture is present, with the straps showing some wear but being intact. The liner has internal webbing with a Defense Supply Agency contract number and a stamped date of “2 July 1970”. The liner has the internal side “Y” straps, while lacking the web chin cup of the harness system. Overall very good condition.
