Very Clean Named WWII Japanese Army Officer Field Cap

An exceptionally fine example of the classic World War II Japanese Army officer’s field cap. The cap is constructed of fine, high quality olive green wool with the yellow wool army star on the front. The green leather chin strap is retained by gilt chrysanthemum officer buttons. The interior leather sweat band does show some wear and cracks. A silk label with embroidered kanji is sewn to the lining of the crown with the name of the officer who owned the cap: “Kunishima”. Overall the cap is in excellent condition showing relatively few signs of wear.
