Untouched and Uncleaned Luftwaffe Officer Sword by SMF with Portepee

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36 inches, with a blade length of approximately 28 inches. The blade is very bright, showing some subtle spots and scratches, but making an excellent appearance. The ricasso bears the trademark  of the SMF firm (Stocker & Co.). The plated guard, ferrule, and pommel all show a dark and uncleaned patina. The swastikas on both sides of the guard and on both sides of the pommel all retain most all of their gilt finishes, with the pommel swastika on one side having a noticeable scratch on one arm. The grip is covered in blue leather which is tightly wrapped in twisted wire. The grip leather exhibits a few small scuffs and chips. The guard shows fine detailing on the feather pattern of the guard. The scabbard fittings show uncleaned patina, while the leather covering on the scabbard shows scuffs and abrasions, as well as a chip which exposes the interior steel of the scabbard. The officer portepee shows some wear, but it is complete and intact. Overall the sword is in an uncleaned and untouched state and it is in very good condition.
