Untouched and Uncleaned Early SA Group Westmark Service Dagger by C. Linder

$900.00

The blade of the dagger shows spots, scratches, surface grime and typical runner marks, but the blade is generally bright, with visible cross grain. The motto of “Alles fur Deutschland” is crisply etched into the obverse surface of the blade, with very nice contrast despite a loss of burnishing within the motto. The reverse ricasso bears the scarcely seen maker mark of “C. Linder Solingen Merscheid”. The early nickel silver guards have an untouched and uncleaned patina. The reverse of the lower guard bears the “Wm” mark of SA Group Westmark. Both the upper and the lower guards fit the grip quite snugly. The obverse rosewood grip is inset with a finely detailed nickel silver eagle, while above this is the enamel SA runes button which shows age and verdigris but which is without damage. The grip is without chips or cracks. The finish of the anodized scabbard shows scuffs and wear, but the finish is largely intact. The lower reverse of the scabbard has a shallow horizontal indentation that does not in any way effect the ability to draw or sheath the dagger. The nickel silver scabbard fittings, like other components of the dagger, exhibit an untouched and uncleaned patina. Overall very good condition.
