Unit Marked Double Erel Infantry Visor Cap
$575.00
An Army infantry EM/NCO visor cap, double marked on the sweat shield and on the sweatband as manufactured by the firm of Erel. The cap bears the “Extra” class designation, indicating a high degree of quality workmanship. The cap has the vented cockade on the front wreath which is one of the characteristics of these high quality Erel caps. The cap has a handwritten tag beneath the sweat shield which bears the name and unit identification of the original owner of the cap. The unit appears to be the Infantry Regiment 124. The cap was obviously created from high quality wool, and it retains a very nice saddle shape. However, the cap does have condition issues. There are stains on both the front peak and on the top of the cap. There is moth tracking to the wool body and some moth damage to the piping. The bottom edge of the cap has wear and damage although it is not visible when looking directly at the cap. There are a few scattered tiny white spots on the patent leather visor. Overall, however, this cap remains a desirable piece of headgear in that it still makes a very good appearance and is named with the unit identification, meaning that it could prove to be a very interesting research project.
