Unit Marked and Dated Prussian EM/NCO Pioneer Pickelhaube

The leather body of the helmet shows some scuffs and surface dirt, with the front visor bearing pock mark indentations below the front chin strap and “alligator” texturing across the surface of the rear visor. The front visor edge, the rear spine, the Prussian eagle front plate, the spike, and the spike base are all in nickel silver. The leather chin strap shows wear and age. The helmet has two national colors cockades on the sides. The full liner is present, showing age and wear. The interior rear visor has a unit mark which appears to be “R.P.B. 8”, as well as the marking of “I Comp”. The interior rear visor also has the date stamps of “1896” and “1911”. Overall the helmet makes a fine appearance and it is in very good condition.
