Uncleaned and Untouched Army Officer’s Monogrammed Service Dagger by Robert Klaas with Portepee and Hangers

The blade is very bright, showing typical spots and scratches but exhibiting visible crossgrain. The ricasso bears the mark of the Robert Klaas firm. The celluloid grip is toned orange, and there are two tiny and barley visible closed cracks at the bottom of the grip. The guard, pommel and the scabbard all show a dark and uncleaned patina. The reverse of the guard is engraved with the monogram “S”. The scabbard shows a bright area at the throat where the scabbard was protected by the swastika of the guard. The portepee shows age toning and wear, but it is without damage. The bullion straps of the hangers similarly exhibit age toning, and the velvet backings show wear, with the upper edges having a bit of fraying. The hanger clips and the strap suspension mounts all have a dark and uncleaned patina. Overall the dagger is in excellent uncleaned condition.
