The blade shows spots and scratches, with a few spots of rust. The guard and the pommel show some light surface rust. The wood grip plates have scratches, wear, and a small chip. One grip plate is marked “U.S.” and bears the American Ordnance Corps mark, as well as inspector marks. The pommel is serial numbered and bears a Canadian broad arrow mark. Both the leather frog and scabbard exhibit age and scuffs. together with “U.S.” and the American Ordnance Corps mark.
