U.S. Marine Corps Officer Khaki Visor Cap With Sterling EG & A
The cap top shows some spots and smudges but it is without holes. The officer eagle, globe and anchor insignia is sterling silver and maker marked by the firm of Hilborn Hamburger. The interior body of the cap is basket weave construction. Beneath the leather sweatband is the cloth Marine Corps garment specifications tag that was used beginning in the 1950’s. Next to the garment tag is a cloth tag reading “Station 7”, which may also reflect the size of the cap. A celluloid sweat shield remains intact, and the cap is maker marked as the “Kay-Bee” brand by Kuenzel Brothers of Philadelphia. Overall very good condition.
