Lionhead Army Artillery officer sword by Horster. Triple etched blade. Nickel (NOT black painted) scabbard with deluxe gilded fittings. Sword fittings and components are gilded brass with much hand detailing to the pommel and guard oak leaves. Maker marked under the reverse langet by E. & F. Horster with a sword through “H” mark that is not within an oval. The triple etched blade is exceptionally bright, with only a few very minor spots. Celluloid grip is triple wire wrapped without chips or cracks. Much original gilding remains to the fittings and the sword appears to be in an untouched state or, if it has ever been cleaned, it was many, many years ago. Excellent condition.
