Third Reich Schutzpolizei Senior NCO Service Tunic

$750.00

A very nice example of the service tunic for a senior non commissioned officer of the State Protection Police, or Schutzpolizei. The shoulder boards reflect the rank of Hauptwachtmeister, a police rank equivalent to the SS rank of Hauptscharfuhrer or a U.S. Army Master Sergeant. The tunic is constructed of a fine quality, lighter weight, wool blend material of the distinct police blue-green color, piped in green for the State Protection Police. On the left sleeve is the police eagle identifying the wearer as a member of the police in the town of Bochum, Germany. The eagle is machine sewn to the sleeve, with stitching that does not penetrate the sleeve lining. The tunic has signs of wear and usage, with a few light spots and one or two tiny and barely perceptible holes. The interior front edge of the tunic has a number of size and depot stamps which are too faded to read clearly but it is obvious that they are there. Interestingly, the tunic has an interior slot for wearing the hanger of a sword, but this slot was never opened. Overall the tunic is in excellent lightly used condition and makes a very fine appearance.
