Third Reich Police Officer Sword by F.W. Holler

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 29-1/2 inches. The matte finish blade exhibits a film of surface grime and some old dried oil, but the blade is in excellent condition. On the ricasso is the thermometer trademark and name of the F.W. Holler firm. The leather washer is in place at the top of the ricasso. The oak leaf ferrule shows fine detail, with the ferrule, guard, and pommel all having an untouched and uncleaned patina. Set into the wire wrapped grip is a copper police eagle. The wood grip itself shows wear to the black painted surface, but the grip is without chips or cracks. The scabbard paint shows age and scratches, while the scabbard fittings at the throat and the drag both have uncleaned patina. Overall the sword is in very good condition.
