Third Reich Police NCO Sword by Paul Weyersberg

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 37-1/4 inches, with a blade length of approximately 30-3/4 inches. The blade exhibits a film of surface grime, dark spots, and edge wear to the cutting edge. On the ricasso is the trademark of the firm of Paul Weyersberg. The leather washer is in place at the top of the ricasso. The oak leaf ferrule shows good detail, with the ferrule, guard, and pommel all having an untouched and uncleaned patina, while showing speckling to the plated surfaces. Set into the grip is a police eagle that shows expected signs of wear. The wood grip itself shows wear to the black painted surface, as well as indentations from carrying wear, but the grip is without chips or cracks. The scabbard paint shows age and paint loss, with the scabbard paint being approximately 60 percent intact, while the scabbard fitting at the throat shows uncleaned patina, verdigris, and rust on the top surface. Overall the sword is in very good condition.
