Third Reich Police Gendarmerie NCO Shako

The3 blue gray wool exterior exhibits some subtle tracking as well as a few small holes. The brown leather trim shows some cracks and age crazing. The shako is without the chin strap or the  national colors cockade, although the stem for the cockade remains inserted into the front slot of the helmet. The full leather liner is present on the interior, bearing a somewhat faint handwritten name. The inside crown of the helmet bears the maker name, the designation of “Berlin”, and the size of 56-1/2. Overall good condition, showing age and use but making a fine appearance.
