Third Reich Police Gendarmerie Hauptmann Uniform with Dress Cartouche Box and Aiguillette

$2,400.00

The uniform is comprised of the tunic and breeches, together with the officer’s dress aiguillette and dress cartouche box. The tunic bears shoulder straps for a Hauptmann, with the Police officer bullion eagle on the left sleeve. The front left breast has two sets of loops for decorations, with a World War I Wound Badge in black remaining on the tunic. Above the left breast pocket is an 8 place ribbon bar on a long set of loops, with the ribbon bar including decorations for World War I service as well as for the 1936 Olympic Games Medal and the Luftschutz Honor Decoration, second class. The interior pocket contains a named tailor’s label from a Berlin clothier. The tunic has a button under the right shoulder strap for wear of the dress aiguillette. The tunic shows moderate wear and has some small, scattered holes, none of which are particularly distracting or noticeable, with the holes that are primarily visible being located on one cuff. The breeches are in matching police blue-green wool and show signs of wear to both the interior and exterior, with two period repairs and some small, scattered, holes. The cartouche box strap is bright, while the brown patent leather cartouche box shows some crazing and a dark line across the cover.
