Third Reich Police Bayonet by WKC
$675.00
The blade was originally longer, dating from the Weimar Era, and it was cut down to the standard Third Reich length. The blade is generally bright, while showing spots of plating loss. The ricasso bears the WKC knight helmet logo on one side and the full Weyersberg firm name on the reverse side. The spine of the blade is marked with the number “23” as well as a proof mark. The stag grip plates have an age toned appearance and they are without chips or cracks. The obverse grip carries an aluminum police eagle, with the insignia showing some typical wear to detail from carrying and wear. The guard and the pommel show very fine detail and display an uncleaned patina. The throat of the upper scabbard fitting is marked “S.B. 14970.”, reflecting that the scabbard was the property of the Schutzpolizei Berlin. The top of the scabbard throat is marked “20”. The scabbard fittings exhibit grime and patina, while the leather section has relatively minor scuffs. Overall very good condition.
