Third Reich Police Bayonet by Alcoso

$595.00

The bayonet is a long Weimar era example that was cut down during the period of the Third Reich. The blade is generally quite bright, showing some spots and scratches, with tiny spots of plating loss. The blade ricasso bears the name of the Alexander Coppel firm (“Alcoso”) on one side, with the firm’s scales logo on the opposite ricasso. The reverse guard bears the unit mark of “S.Ko.I. 1636″”, indicating that at one time the bayonet was item 8641 of the Schutzpolizei Koln. The grip plates show a fine age toning and they are without chips or cracks. The lower reverse grips has a small hole from the prior Weimar era mounting screw. The guard and the pommel are overall bright, showing minor signs of age and verdigris, but with intact plating. The pommel has a false attachment button. The black leather scabbard shows age scuffs and wear, but it is complete and intact. The scabbard throat does not have a unit marking. Overall excellent condition.
