Third Reich NSDAP Nazi Party Kreis Level Hauptamtsleiter Tunic and Visor Cap

$3,300.00

Both the tunic and the visor cap date from the period of 1936 to 1939, when the color for the Kreis level was changed from black to white. The tunic is constructed of high quality golden brown ribbed wool with black piped collar and collar tabs, the tabs reflecting the position of Hauptamtsleiter. A multi piece party armband is sewn to the left sleeve. Above the upper left pocket is sewn a ribbon bar reflecting the award of the 1914 Iron Cross, Second Class; the Bavarian Military Merit Cross; and the Hindenburg Front Fighter Cross with Swords. The upper left pocket is missing the closure button. The tunic displays solver pebbled buttons with political eagle and swastika. Pinned to the upper left pocket is a membership pin for the NSKOV as well as the 1933 Trier Holy Pilgrimage tinnie (A badge to commemorate the 1933 pilgrimage to view the Holy Tunic in Trier. Housed at the Trier cathedral, the tunic was claimed to be the tunic that Jesus wore before his crucifixion). The visor cap is constructed of a high quality golden brown lighter weight whipcord wool with a brown velvet cap band. Both the peak and the cap band are piped in black. The surface of the visor shows age crazing, with the visor crossed by a toned gold bullion cap cord that is secured on the sides by gold pebbled buttons. The cap exhibits a fine saddle shape. The interior retains the leather sweatband, which has a few tears and has lost some stitching.  The lining is intact, as is the full celluloid sweat shield. Both the tunic and the visor cap show surface soiling and typical signs of age, but both the tunic and the cap are without stains, holes, or damage, and the set makes an excellent appearance.
