Third Reich Municipal Police Officer Visor Cap

$675.00

A very nice example of a police officer visor cap that was only worn for a relatively short period of time, since the Gemeindepolizei, or police units for smaller cities, were reorganized and absorbed into the Schutzpolizei. The cap is constructed of the distinctive blue green wool worn by the Third Reich Police formations, and it is piped in the wine red piping that was used only by the Gemeindepolizei, and which the police ceased using when the organization was absorbed into the larger Schutzplizei. The cap has a nice saddle shape. There is a brown cap band which displays the second pattern police eagle in aluminum. The cap shows scattered tracking to the wool nap on the top and the sides of the body. There are several small moth holes to the body of the cap as well. The cap shows signs of use and wear, but the full interior celluloid sweat shield is complete and intact on the interior. The cap makes a nice appearance.
