Third Reich Engraved Army Dress Bayonet by Eickhorn

$425.00

An Army dress bayonet by Eickhorn with an engraved blade on one side. The engraving presents a panoply of arms with a steel helmet and a closed wing army eagle flanking the “In Memory of My Service” dedication. The blade is quite bright although there are scratches, particularly on the reverse, and a few spots where the plating is worn, primarily on the edge and on the raised line of the blade on the reverse near the tip. The frosting effect on the dedication is complete and impressive. The guard and the pommel have an uncleaned patina. The black checkered grip plates are tight and free of chips or cracks. The black scabbard paint shows some minimal signs of age and there is a bit of wear to the paint on the ball at the bottom of the scabbard, but generally the paint is about 95% intact. The original black patent leather frog remains on the bayonet. The frog shows indications of use and age, with some wear, particularly on the edges. Overall the bayonet is in very good condition.
