Third Reich Dove Head NCO/Officer Sword by F.W. Holler / Triple Etched Blade With MG & Artillery Scene

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 41-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 36 inches. The blade shows spots and scratches, but overall it is quite bright and makes a very fine appearance. The ricasso bears the thermometer trademark of the F.W. Holler firm. The blade has etched panels on each side of approximately 12-1/2 inches. One panel displays a decorative design which includes crossed swords, while the etched panel on the opposite side has two closed wing army eagles with swastikas which flank a combat scene that includes machine gun and field gun crews in action. The spine of the blade is etched with a leaf design. The black celluloid grip is without chips or cracks and it remains tightly triple wrapped with wire. The plated guard, knuckle bow and pommel are in excellent condition, showing uncleaned patina but with the nickel plating being intact. Overall the sword is in excellent condition.
