SS Service Dagger RZM 1196/38 SS by Wusthof

SS enlisted and NCO service dagger with the blade marked RZM 1196/38 SS, a code that is generally regarded as reflecting manufacture by Edward Wusthof Dreizackwerk of Solingen. The blade shows the typical runner marks but it is quite bright, with much visible crossgrain. The etched motto stands out from the blade in nice contrast. The black ebony grip is in excellent condition and is without cracks or chips. The grip eagle is the nickel variety and shows only slight wear to the higher surfaces. The enamel SS runes button is straight up and down and is free of cracks or chips. The plating on the crossguards is bright and intact. The black finish on the scabbard is approximately 95% intact. A black leather belt clip is attached to the scabbard. Overall excellent condition.
