SS Officer Sword by Krebs

The SS officer’s sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 39-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 33 inches. The ricasso bears the lobster mark and name of the Krebs firm. The white leather washer is in place at the top of the blade. The blade has a matte satin finish and, while it exhibits a few spots and surface grime, it is generally very clean. The grip is without chips or cracks. The SS runes roundel that is set into the grip shows a loss of silvering, with the runes having a copper appearance. The oak leaf ferrule and the guard show uncleaned patina, with some subtle speckling to the plated finish on the knuckle guard. The surface of the pommel cap shows rust. The underside of the guard and the top of the scabbard throat fitting have SS proof marks. The scabbard has some paint loss as well as surface rust on both the scabbard and on the lower scabbard fitting.
