SS EM/NCO Dagger with Hanger RZM 1198 (Solinger Metallwaffenfabrik Stoecker & Co.)

The blade of the dagger is generally bright, with some spots and as well as typical runner marks and would likely respond very well to a careful cleaning of the blade. The blade has generally intact burnishing within the motto. The ricasso bears the “RZM” logo as well as the contract number of 1198 / 39″ above the SS runes, this being the dagger contract number of the firm of Solinger Metallwaffenfabrik Stoecker & Co. The ebony grip shows signs of age, but it is without chips or cracks. The enamel SS runes button is straight and it is without chips or cracks. The nickel eagle in the grip exhibits a fine, uncleaned patina. The nickel plated guards fit the grip very well, and while the guards show patina, the plating is intact. The reverse side of the lower guard has the Roman number “III” to indicate the Berlin Distribution Center. The black finish of the scabbard has small chips or scratches as well as spots of wear, but it appears as being largely intact. The plated scabbard fittings show an untouched patina. The scabbard has a shallow horizontal indentation on the front side, but it does not effect the ability to draw or sheath the dagger. The ball drag at the base of the scabbard has a split, but it is intact. The dagger has attached to it the hanger, in supple black leather and with an attachment clip. The leather of the hanger is worn, but it is complete and intact. Overall the dagger is in very good to excellent condition.
