WWII Japanese Army Major’s Full Dress Cap
The soft, unstructured, full dress uniform wool cap of a Major of the Imperial Japanese Army. The black wool body has three gold rank cords around the cap band indicating a Major’s rank. The top of the cap band and the top of the cap body are also piped in gold cord, with a gold tape star on top of the cap. The cap carries the removable red and white feather plume. The black leather visor shows some typical crazing. The interior is fully lined and embroidered with the name of the officer who owned the cap. While the cap is somewhat misshaped as a result of storage and its soft structure, the cap is overall in excellent used condition, and free of stains or moth damage.
