Single Engraved German Army Dress Bayonet by Holler

The bayonet has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 13-1/2 inches. The blade is quite bright, showing a film of surface dirt and with some small dark spots on the reverse side, but generally making an excellent appearance. The blade is etched on one side with the traditional motto of “Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit ” (“In Memory of My Service Time”), with the etching including a tank, an artillery piece and gunners, and a machine gun crew. The ricasso bears the thermometer trademark of the Holler firm, with the leather washer in place at the top of the ricasso. The black Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. The pommel and the guard show some speckling to the plated finish. The red wool insert is in place in the rifle slot, and the black gloss scabbard paint is approximately 90 percent intact, showing typical scratches and some small spots of paint loss. Overall very good to excellent condition.
