Single Decal M35 German Army Helmet by Eisenhuttenwerke with Thick Field Gray Overpaint

The M35 helmet retains an almost entirely intact painted finish, with that paint being comprised of a thick, textured, paint in dark field gray green, with some areas of loss to that finish which permits the lighter field gray M35 paint to be seen. The Army eagle decal is approximately 60 percent intact. The interior of the helmet is marked “ET 64”, indicating a size 64 helmet shell that was manufactured by the firm of Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale. The liner remains present, showing age and use. The drawstring is missing, and one of the leather liner tongues is torn. The chin strap is also present, being rather dry. The interior dome of the helmet exhibits some typical surface rust, while the interior skirt of the helmet shows the helmet’s original lighter green M35 field gray paint. Overall a very fine example of a World War II German Army combat helmet.
