Silver 1942 Luftwaffe Ehrenpokal Honor Goblet to Knight’s Cross Recipient Oberleutnant Reinhard Graubner

The Ehrenpokal is approximately 8 inches tall, with a base diameter of approximately 3-3/4 inches. The goblet is named to Oberleutnant Reinhard Graubner, with an award date of February 5, 1942. The interior of the base is marked 835 silver, with the correct silver hallmarks. and it is also maker marked by the firm of “Joh. Wagner & Sohn”, the only firm that produced the Luftwaffe Honor Goblets. Reinhard Graubner was a bomber pilot who flew over 400 combat missions, being decorated with the German Cross in Gold and, in 1943, with the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross. He served as the Gruppenkommandeur (Group Commander) of the 2nd Group of Kampfgeschwader 4 “General Wever, ” and he died in Germany in 1986. The goblet shows a fine and uncleaned patina and it is without dents or damage, presenting an exceptionally impressive appearance.
