Signed Silk Japanese Hinomaru “China Diary” Flag

Approximately 27 by 32 inches in size, with two reinforced corners with ties. The flag is extensively marked with bold slogans and signatures. Additionally, the soldier who carried the flag used it as a “diary” flag, writing on the sun area the names of locations in China where he served. The flag has the spots that are typical of those hinomaru flags that were carried by soldiers in the field of operations. On the lower edge there is a length of about 12 inches that is slightly tattered. Overall the flag makes an impressive appearance and exhibits great character as a hinomaru flag that was clearly carried on the body of a Japanese soldier.
