Signed Japanese Gendaito Sword with a Blade with Engraved Presentation in Leather Combat Scabbard Cover

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26 inches. The blade is generally bright, with some spots and speckling. The blade exhibits a visible temper line. One side of the blade bears Chinese kanji with the dedication of “Sincerely presented by Mr. Zhonghui and Chen Huicun”. The sword tang is signed “Kaneyoshi.”. The pommel, fuchi collar, and the tsuba guard are civilian mounts with engraved floral designs, a beetle, and a dragonfly. The fuchi collar bears an engraved name that is not entirely legible of “Ichi (illegible) saku”. The grip is covered in ray skin, wrapped i the traditional fashion in blue-green fabric. Beneath the fabric wrappings on each side are civilian menuki. The scabbard has a leather comber cover which shows typical scuffs and wear from use in the field. The horizontal portion of the leather snap strap around the base of the grip is broken immediately underneath the rivet, but the snap strap remains present and complete.
