SA Mountain Standarte Sudmark Officer M-43 Cap

The very distinctive M-43 style cap worn by the mountain units of the SA. This example, with pink top and a metal Edelweiss flower on a pink side tab, was worn by an officer of SA Gruppe Sudmark (the officer rank being denoted by the silver piping around the crown). The cap is constructed from the special olive brown wool used by the SA in their uniforms. It is fully lined in brown cotton and bears a size stamp of “58”. The cap is in exceptional condition. It shows few sings of wear or use; it is free of stains or holes; and the pink color of the sides of the cap has not faded, as can be seen when the side panels are lowered to examine the pink sides beneath.
