Rare Untouched and Uncleaned German Army Officer Dagger by Rudolf Buchel with Portepee and Hangers

The blade is generally bright, showing typical spots and scratches as well as surface grime, with a few small spots of disturbance to the finish on both sides that are approximately 3-3/4 inches up from the tip. The blade shows visible crossgrain and the ricasso bears the rarely seen manufacturer mark of the firm of Rudolf Buchel. The guard, pommel, and scabbard all exhibit verdigris and uncleaned patina. The guard shows some speckling of the finish. The top center of the pommel has a small hole in the surface. The white celluloid grip shows age toning and minor scratches but it is without chips or cracks. The portepee exhibits toning and signs of carrying wear, with just a bit of fraying on the stem, but it is intact and without damage. The hangers similarly show wear and age, with fraying on the edges, and with the buckles, clips, and suspension mount all showing dark patina, but the hangers are complete and intact.
