RAD Labor Service Officer Dagger by Julius Krebs

The blade of the dagger is mirror bright, while showing some surface smudges, scratches and spots. The ricasso bears the maker mark of the firm of Julius Krebs. The motto of “Arbeit adelt” has a stippled interior without burnishing. The celluloid grip plates are toned with age, and there is a tiny and barely visible closed crack on the middle of the interior edge which is observable only as a very short dark line (about 1/16 of an inch, or 3 millimeters, in length). The plating on the guard, the ferrule, and the pommel is bright while showing some speckling and pock marks. The top surface of the eagle head pommel shows a cluster of pock marks and indentations. The scabbard exhibits an uncleaned patina, with spots and stains as well as wear to the burnishing of the central panel on the obverse, while the reverse retains more of the burnishing. Overall very good condition.
