Published Early NSDAP Political Leader Kepi
$850.00
An earlier example of the service kepi of an NSDAP political leader. The kepi visor and body are khaki cotton twill material with the upper body of the kepi having one enameled ventilation grommet on each side. A toned silver officer chin cord is secured by nickel side buttons. The front of the kepi bears a Model 1927 political eagle. The interior of the kepi is lined in brown oil cloth that is marked with the manufacturer stamp of Otto Baader. The liner is also stamped with the size of 55. There is a second stamp on the interior lining that is likely the name of the original NSDAP officer who owned the kepi. There are stains to the top edge of the kepi, probably the result of the wire stiffener around the kepi top becoming wet and staining the material in small spots. Cap is pictured in Vol 3 of Headgear of Hitler’s Germany by Saris and Smith on page 47/
