The surfaces of the leather helmet show typical age crazing, with a few small pock marks and scuffs, but the helmet retains a fine shape. The Garde eagle front plate is retained through two holes in the helmet. The front metal edge, the wappen front plate, the spike, spike base, and the rear spine all show an uncleaned patina. The helmet retains the Prussian and the national colors cockades. The chin strap is a replacement. The full leather liner is intact on the interior. The interior of the rear visor bears unit and date stamps. Overall the helmet makes a very good appearance.
