Pre WWII New Jersey National Guard 113th Infantry Regiment Photograph Album

$175.00

The album measures approximately 11 1/5 by 15 1/2 inches and contains approximately 135 photographs of various sizes. The album contains images of camp scenes and training as well as numerous photographs of field maneuvers that were held in 1940 (a posted sign in one photograph provides the 1940 date). These photographs depict the questionable state of America’s military on the eve of World War II, with soldiers wearing campaign hats and M1917 helmets, as well as photographs that show the questionably effective Stuart M3 light tank and which also show horses still playing a substantial role in the field.  Overall the album presents an interesting look at American ground forces in the last days of peace. The album is in good condition, with the pages being intact in the binding. The cover features a relief image of an early model B17, while the rear cover is detached from the album.
