The silver plate holder would have been used to hold a hot glass or porcelain cup insert, which is no longer present. Approximately 2-3/4 inches tall, with a top diameter of approximately 2-1/2 inches. The holder has a dark, uncleaned patina, and it is marked “Post Berchtesgaden”. The Hotel Post on the Hintersee was used to house various dignitaries visiting the Nazi hierarchy on the Obersalzberg.
