The silver plated combined ashtray and matchbox holder is marked to the “Post Berchtesgaden”, and maker marked by the firm of E. Hartmann of Munich. The piece is approximately 5-1/2 inches tall, with a base diameter of approximately 4-1/2 inches. The piece shows ash residue and uncleaned patina. The Hotel Post on the Hintersee was used to house various dignitaries visiting the Nazi hierarchy on the Obersalzberg. Very good condition.
