Painted M1917 First Army Engineers Diary Helmet

The helmet bears the painted insignia on the front of the First Army with Engineer castle and the number “21”, above which are painted three overseas chevrons. The helmet exterior is extensively painted with locations and battles, to include St. Mihiel, Verdun, and Argonne. The interior liner is present, while the leather chin strap is broken. Very good condition.
