Painted 5th Marine Regiment Supply Company M1917 Helmet

The helmet appears to have been given a period applied coat of a dark red paint on the de and much of the rim. The interior was painted white, which is now toned. The front of the helmet bears the painted insignia of the Supply Company of the 5th Marine Regiment. The exterior shows typical grime and surface rust. The interior felt liner pad is present, although the liner is missing. A portion of the leather chin strap remains on the helmet.
