$1,375.00

The Japanese full dress uniform is comprised of the elegant double breasted frock coat and the matching trousers, together with the named dress cap and plume, as well as the cased dress shoulder knots. The frock coat and trousers are tailored from a high quality black wool, and the celluloid collar and cuff liners remain present in the coat. The upper left breast of the coat has loops for the wear of a medal bar. The interior lining bears the label of the tailor who provided the uniform. The coat shows some relatively minor wear to the gold bullion trim on the standing collar, with a very tiny hole to the red wool base at the front top right collar corner, but otherwise the coat is exceptionally clean and very impressive in appearance. The matching black wool trousers are in similarly fine condition, and they retain the original suspenders. The dress cap is also constructed of a high quality black wool with gold bullion cord decoration. The body of the cap is without holes or damage. The surface of the patent leather visor shows age cracks and crazing. The interior lining of the cap is embroidered with the officer’s name. The red and white feather cap plume is with the set, with the plume being inside of its protective cardboard tube and this is inside of its original cardboard box. The gold bullion dress knots for the frock coat are with the uniform and they are within their velvet lined case. Overall the dress uniform set is in exceptional condition and very impressive in appearance.

The same officer’s service tunic is tailored from a fine quality olive green wool, with a partial lining. The collars have the rank tabs of a Captain, while the right breast bears an Army Company Commander badge, fastened through thread loops on the tunic. On the upper left breast there are loops for a ribbon set or a medal bar. Each cuff has three bullion stars, with one of the stars being a period replacement. The upper left back has two very small period repairs, while the upper right sleeve shows two small holes. The collar liner remains inside of the tunic. Also inside of the tunic is a fabric piece that is embroidered with the name of the officer in kanji. A tailor’s label is also present inside of the tunic. The tunic lining shows use, with a hole in the lining on the lower left, immediately next to the opening for the wear of a sword, with the wear to the lining no doubt resulting from the wearing of the sword. Overall the tunic is in very good used condition.
