Official WWII German Photograph: 29th Infantry Division Soldiers Taken as Prisoners of War in 1944

The photograph is dated 1944. It is approximately 5 inches by 7 inches. The photograph has a typed description on the reverse with the designation of “Nur fur den Dienstgebrauch!” (“For official use only!”). The typed description states “Bei einen misagluckten Angriff der Amerikaner nordlich Geilenkirchen wurde eine Ansahl Gefangener eingeebracht” (“A failed attack by the Americans north of Geilenkirchen resulted in a number of prisoners being taken”). One of the soldiers clearly has the insignia of the 29th Division painted on the front of his helmet. The photograph has two file folder holes in the side.
