Official War Crimes Trials Photographs Set of Gauleiter and SS Obergruppenführer Ernst Wilhelm Bohle

$90.00

Each of the two photographs is approximately 1-3/4 inches by 3 inches. The top of the photograph showing the front view of Bohle has a “bleed through” image from the development of the photograph of Franx Xaver Schwartz, showing Schwartz’s name plate. Bohle was the Gauleiter of the Foreign Organization of the Nazi Party from 1934 until 1945. Bohle was a witness at the initial Nuremberg Trial, and he was the only defendant in the Subsequent Nuremberg trials of 1946-1949 to plead guilty to any charge. Bohle pleaded guilty to having been a member of the SS and assisted the prosecution in their case against the other defendants. Bohle was sentenced to five years in prison on 11 April 1949. He was released from prison on 21 December 1949, several months before his full sentence expired. After his release, he worked as a merchant in Hamburg.
