Normandy Camouflage Luftwaffe M35 Combat Helmet

A Luftwaffe Model 1935 helmet, manufacturer marked in the skirt with the code of “NS 64”, indicating a size 64 shell manufactured by Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke. The exterior of the shell has a rather thick application of camouflage paint in what is generally referred to as the “Normandy pattern”, a mixture of green, red, and ocher colors that appear to have been thickened with sawdust. The exterior paint is approximately 90% intact. The interior of the helmet retains its original Luftwaffe blue-gray paint. The liner is present with its drawstring, and the chin strap is present as well. A really outstanding example of a combat-used Normandy camouflage helmet.
