Non Portable SA Award: 1937 Verdienstplakette des National Socialist Reiterkorps

The iron plaque is approximately 4-3/8 inches in diameter. The plaque bears the statement on the reverse of “Fur Verdienste um die Wehrhafte Ertuchtigung der Deutschen Reiter Jugend” (“For merit in the defense training of the German equestrian youth”). The statement appears over the signature of Adolf Hitler. The non-portable award plaque was presented to SA riding instructors who taught equestrian skills to German youth, skills that they would late be able to apply in military service. Excellent condition.
