Near Mint 1916 Dated Imperial German Prussian Jager zu Pferde EM/NCO Helmet

The helmet was produced in accordance with the 1915 regulations, with the blackened steel helmet carrying gray oxidized fittings. The blackened finish is essentially completely intact, showing only relatively minor scratches and spots. The near mint, full leather liner is intact, although lacking the drawstring. The interior dome is marked “1916” and “Damaschke”. The helmet lacks the chin strap and cockades but their absence, together with the exceptional condition of the helmet both inside and out, strongly suggests that the helmet was never issued.
