Named WWII Royal Artillery Officer Battledress Jacket of a Military Cross Recipient

The wool Model 1940 battledress blouse is tagged as a size 16, intended for wear by a man up to 6 feet, 2 inches tall, with a chest size up to 40 inches and a waist size up to 35 inches. The jacket shows signs of use and wear, with some soiling and a few very small scattered holes, none of which is distracting. The jacket has the cloth rank pips of a Captain, with the shoulder flashes of the Royal Artillery, and sleeve patches of a War Department Controlled Unit. The upper left breast displays the sewn ribbons of the Military Cross; the 1939-1945 War Star; the North Africa Star; the Italy Star; and the 1939-1945 War Medal. The interior bears the handwritten name of “Beckwith” and the number “673”. Overall the jacket is in very good used condition. The jacket is accompanied by the officer’s overseas cap with Royal Artillery cap badge. The cap shows wear and use, but is in good used condition.
