Named WWII Marine Corps General’s Swagger Stick

A presentation swagger stick that was clearly made in the Pacific Theater and presented to Claude A. Larkin, the Commanding General of the 3rd Marine Air Wing. The swagger stick is 30 inches long. The upper end is comprised of a brass shell casing (head stamp 41) on which a Marine Corps eagle, globe and anchor emblem is mounted, and the casing is engraved with General Larkin’s name and position. A brass bullet is mounted on the lower end of the stick. General Larkin was a career Marine and Marine Corps aviator who was present during the attack on Pearl Harbor and who was in fact wounded during the attack. He commanded the 3rd Air Wing from December of 1943 until April of 1944. The swagger stick was quite obviously carried and used by General Larkin.
