The group is comprised of the 11 medals and decorations of Paul Malyurek, to include the following: Bronze Star Medal, unnamed as awarded, on a slot brooch suspension; U.S. Navy Good Conduct Medal, named “Paul Malyurek 1943”, on a slot brooch suspension and with the bars for “Second Award” and “Third Award”; China Service Medal, on a crimp brooch suspension; American Defense Medal, on a slot brooch suspension; World War II American Campaign Medal, on a crimp brooch suspension; World War II Pacific Campaign Medal with one campaign star, on a crimp brooch suspension; World War II Victory Medal, on a crimp brooch suspension; World War II U.S. Navy Occupation Service Medal, on a crimp brooch suspension; National Defense Medal, on a crimp brooch suspension; Korean War Service Medal, on a crimp brooch suspension; and the United Nations Medal for the Korean War, on a crimp brooch suspension. All of the medals are in very good condition. The medal is accompanied by a ribbon set with the ribbons for all medals (and with the Good Conduct Medal ribbon bearing four stars). According to an internet source,  Paul Malyurek served in the United States Navy for 30 years, rising to the rank of Chief Boatswain Mate.
